This is one of my favorite quotes.  It really is simple, but has profound meaning.  It actually took me some time and experience to even understand the impact of this message.  Sometimes we feel like we wish people in our lives (or the world) would act a certain way or be a certain way.  It can be frustrating.  We wish and we hope certain people would change and it doesn’t happen.

The empowerment occurs when you embrace the knowledge that the change begins with you.  You can’t change people, they have to change themselves.  When you let that go, it’s liberating!  All you have control over is yourself.

I actually found this quote in my Twitter stream last week and really loved it.  An open mind is an incredibly powerful thing.  When your mind is open, you are able to receive – it’s that simple.

When you actually accept that life will bring you challenges and won’t be perfect – it’s liberating.  Be open, take in every experience – the good and the bad – you are meant to experience it all!  Always be open to finding the lesson and the value in every experience and see what you can attract into your life!

Monday Motivation: You are a Rock Star!

If you don’t believe in yourself, who will?  Be confident in what you know.  Own it, relish it, and enjoy it.  You are a rock star, but you have to believe it.

You are good at so many things – we often just don’t take the time to think about it.  So, drop what you’re doing right now – grab some paper and write down 5 things that you know you totally rock at. Then, put the pen down – look at that list and read it out loud (many times – shout it if you’d like!)  Own your magificience and all those things that you have to confidently share with this world.

Do that (and feel that confidence) and you will be unstoppable!

I observe so many people who are looking for the magic answer, the magic pill, or the magic resolution. Going outside of the box is uncomfortable, looking ourselves in the mirror and taking personal responsibility is uncomfortable, but guess what? It’s completely necessary.

You, and only you,  have the power to change anything in your life.  It’s easy to blame others, we even convince ourselves that this is okay…but it’s not.

When you empower yourself and embrace that you are the only one who can create change for yourself, your life will literally begin to transform.

It’s All in the Attitude

Are you surrounded by negative complaining people?  Are you one of them?

If you’ve ever been around people like this (or are one yourself), you know how heavy and weighty it feels.  Some people love to complain – they feed off of it.  It’s like a toxic energy that just festers.

It’s often easy for people to complain, but yet when asked what they would do to change things or make them better they don’t have an answer.   It’s not uncommon to hear, “that’s just the way it is…” but continue to complain, making excuses and doing nothing to better the situation.

Well, even if you can’t physically change a situation, which can certainly happen – you can absolutely change your attitude and how you act or view the situation.

So how about you?  What can you do to create change either in your attitude or a given situation?

Monday Motivation: The Optimist

It’s Monday Motivation time!

Are you a glass half empty or a glass half full kind of gal?

Well, I used to be a glass half empty kind of gal many years ago, but now I’m a eternal optimist.

People always ask me how I do it especially in really tough times. Well, guess what?  I’m human - I go through really (and I mean really) tough times, but I have equipped myself with a super strong mindset muscle.  Even when I allow myself the space to struggle and feel bad, I pick myself back up and look for that silver lining.

I like to tell people that the mind is just like a muscle.  You wouldn’t walk in to your first Pilates class and walk out with a flat stomach and six pack abs.  It takes work, consistency, building, and commitment.  It’s the same thing with your mind.
